Empty Promises

This is a list of empty promises that are sometimes made in a relationship.  Though these were all made to me, the feelings of the time were fully reciprocated.  Hell, to an extent, they still are…

“I am sure we will find a way to overcome whatever obstacles so we can be together.”

“…I am just crazy in love with you is all! So don’t fall out of love with me or forget about me or anything, k?”

“Just know that I am always here for you as a friend as well as a girlfriend.”

“I just want you to know that my love for you runs just as deeply as you say yours does for me.”

“I can’t imagine not being with you and I would never want to. No matter what happens or where we go, I always want to be yours and will do whatever it takes to make sure we don’t lose what we have.”

“I love you more than anything and couldn’t imagine my life without you!”

“When i think of losing you i think of losing my best friend and a big part of me. There is no one in the world who knows me as well as you do or that i trust as much as you and i would never want to let that go, for any reason.”

“Happy Valentine’s Day! I love you with all my heart and soul! I can’t live without you even for a few days and I want to spend the rest of my life only with you.”

“Anyway, I love you with all my heart and want to spend the rest of my life with you. I will try to be better. Don’t give up on me.”

“i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Needless-to-say, this relationship ended.  However, every once in a while, some thought will pop into your head and remind you that the first cut truly is the deepest.
